Opinions are easy; scores are useful. If you are comparing lift companies, a simple scorecard turns a long and confusing process into a decision you can explain to your family, your committee or your partners. This scorecard is designed to help you find the best elevator company in Bangalore for your building. Print it, fill it in for each company and add up the points.
How to use the scorecard
- Shortlist two to four companies.
- Ask each the questions in the right-hand column.
- Give each criterion a score from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent).
- Multiply by the weight that matters to you.
- Add up and compare. Then check references for the top two.
The scorecard
| Criterion | Question to ask | Score 1-5 | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site survey | Did they visit, measure and explain? | x3 | |
| Safety and compliance | Are safety devices listed and tested? Who handles licence? | x3 | |
| Ride smoothness and speed | Can we ride a similar lift? | x2 | |
| Installation and service quality | Who installs? Schedule? Supervision? | x2 | |
| After-sales and AMC | Written AMC, response, escalation? | x3 | |
| Customization and aesthetics | Finishes, lighting, doors to match our interior? | x1 | |
| References | Two similar customers we can call? | x2 | |
| Value for money | Total cost over ten years? | x2 | |
| Total |
How to read your results
- A high total with low safety or AMC scores is a warning; fix those rows first.
- If two companies tie, let references and service decide, not price.
- If every company scores low on survey quality, you may need a better shortlist.
Adjusting weights for your building
| Building | Increase the weight of |
|---|---|
| Hospital | Safety, AMC, response |
| Apartment | AMC, references, safety |
| Home | Survey, aesthetics, noise |
| Commercial | Uptime, group control, AMC |
Back the score with proof
A score is only as good as the facts behind it. Ask for the quotation, specification, AMC draft and references and attach them to the scorecard. Read how to verify claims, reviews and references.
Your decision file
