An apartment lift is used by hundreds of people every day. When it fails, the entire community notices. This guide is for RWAs, builders and apartment owners in Bangalore choosing or changing a lift company.
For builders: before the lift is ordered
- Decide number, position, capacity and speed from the plans.
- Plan a service lift and backup power.
- Involve the lift company before the shaft is built.
See lift planning for builders and architects.
For RWAs: choosing or changing a company
- Review your current AMC and breakdown log.
- Get a condition survey of each lift.
- Compare two or three written offers.
- Plan budget and a sinking fund.
Read RWA lift budget planning and lift safety checklist for RWAs.

| Written quotation | Itemised scope, specification, exclusions and payment terms | What is not included in this price? |
| Safety | Door sensors, overload protection, alarm, intercom, emergency light, rescue on power failure | Which safety features are standard? |
| Installation team | Trained technicians with supervision | Who will be on my site and who supervises? |
| Inspection support | Guidance on Karnataka inspection and licence steps | Who handles the paperwork? |
| Service and AMC | Written visit frequency, parts covered, response approach | What happens when the lift stops at night? |
| References | Completed projects like yours | Can I see or speak to similar customers? |
