Knowing what to look for in the best elevator company in Bangalore is half the job. Knowing what to run from is the other half. These ten red flags come from the problems building owners tell us about most often. If you see two or more, pause. If you see five, walk away.
Red flag 1: A price without a site visit
A lift cannot be priced from a phone call. Shaft size, pit depth, overhead, access and power all change the price. A company that quotes without visiting is guessing, and the guess will be corrected later in its favour.
Red flag 2: A vague quotation
If the quotation does not list capacity, speed, stops, doors, cabin, controls and exclusions, you cannot compare it or hold anyone to it. See how to read a lift quotation.
Red flag 3: Pressure to pay a large advance
An advance is normal; a large one before the specification is final is not. Agree payment stages linked to progress. See lift payment terms.
Red flag 4: No safety explanation
The best elevator company in Bangalore explains safety features without being asked. If safety is not discussed, ask. If answers are vague, leave.
Red flag 5: No written AMC
"We will take care of you" is not an AMC. Ask for a written draft with visit frequency, parts, response approach and exclusions.
Red flag 6: No licence or inspection guidance
Lifts in Karnataka are inspected and licensed. A company that cannot tell you how to handle this is not serious. See inspection and licence in Karnataka.
Red flag 7: No references
A company with satisfied customers has no trouble giving references. Refusal or evasion is a signal.
Red flag 8: Unrealistic promises
- "Approval is guaranteed by a date."
- "Lifetime free service."
- "The lowest price in Bangalore, always."
Promises that nobody can keep are marketing, not commitments.
Red flag 9: Unclear who installs
Ask who will be on site and who supervises. If the answer is "a contractor" with no name, you are buying a risk.
Red flag 10: Bad behaviour before the sale
Slow replies, dodged questions and pushy follow-ups before you pay predict worse after. Trust how a company behaves when it wants your business.
What to do if you see red flags
- Ask for the missing item in writing.
- Compare with another quotation.
- Check references.
- Walk away if the answers do not improve.
